The Folk High Schools in Sweden and the Folk Development Colleges in Tanzania have enjoyed close relations since the establishment of the Folk Development Colleges in the 1970's. Karibu means welcome in Swahili and the Karibu Associations welcome you to know more about Sweden, Tanzania and the co-operation between Folk High Schools and Folk Development Colleges. The aim of our co-operation is to promote and develop popular education in Swden and Tanzania. We do this by:
- Facilitating contacts and co-operation between Folk High Schools in Sweden and Folk Development Colleges in Tanzania. Today 26 out of the 58 Folk Development Colleges in Tanzania have a swedish sister college, more sister relations are requested by the tanzanian colleges!
- Spreading information in Sweden about popular education in Tanzania, tanzanian politics, society and culture
- Spreading information in Tanzania about popular education in Sweden, swedish politics, society and culture.
